My name is Matthew Nix and I am the new assistant professor of music and worship at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College.
I have been married for almost two years to my lovely wife, Mikayla Nix, who is a first-grade teacher at Yellow Creek Elementary School in Middlesboro.
In the summer of 2018, God called us to Clear Creek with a mission to train up the next generation of worshipers. Since arriving, God has been developing multiple courses in music and worship that I truly believe will prepare students for practical worship ministry.
Romans 12:1 states, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship." This verse is the heart of the music and worship courses that are now offered at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College. Every course provides musical preparation as well as opportunities for the students to use the gifts God has given them to live out a lifestyle of worship.
Through courses such as introduction to worship, worship leadership, worship history, technologies in ministry, and the Clear Creek worship team, students are prepared to go out and lead worship anywhere God might call them. No stone is left unturned as we explore the tools and methods students will need in leading the modern-day worship band, choir, and orchestra. We also provide private lessons in voice, guitar, and piano that will help each student sharpen their skills for the glory of God.
When students leave Clear Creek, they will be able to truthfully say that they received practical and biblical worship ministry training that they can use to lead others in living out a lifestyle of worship. It is my prayer that God will raise up biblical worship leaders who will hear His call and go out into the world to declare the glory of Jesus Christ.
If this sounds like you, then I want to personally invite you to come join us at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College as we continue to grow the music and worship department into what God wants it to be.
