I always like to hear about our alumni and the ways God is using them to do ministry. Alumnus Mark Ayers recently shared with us about a unique ministry tool that God has allowed him to develop and use in his ministry.

“This coming semester will mark 20 years since I enrolled at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College,” said Mark. “Growing up, I always wanted to be an animator. Then, one year after starting college, the Lord called me to develop a unique animated ministry. However, when I was called into the ministry, I abandoned the idea. A few years later, I began writing our Vacation Bible School curriculum at the church I was serving as student pastor.  During one VBS week, one of our adult workers randomly came up to me and said, ‘This VBS would make a great cartoon.’  From that day forward, the call to develop a Christian animated curriculum was born. It would be called New Creature Creations.

“As I presented my newfound ministry and vision to the professors at Clear Creek, I was amazed at their overwhelming encouragement and instruction,” said Mark. “Many of the professors even let me use some of the ideas I was developing as class assignments. New Creature Creations is an animated curriculum specifically designed to reach and teach kids with the gospel of Christ. We believe God has designed us to be creative for His glory. In order for us to reach the generations to come, we must use new and exciting methods. Each of our lessons uses the ‘Hook, Book, Look and Took’ format to engage children and clearly communicate deep biblical truths on a childlike level. Our animated characters and their situations are used as the hook to teach kids about the greatness of God.

“The ultimate goal of NCC is to evangelize, energize, equip and excite the generations for the glory of God, and each lesson seeks to teach God-centered truths that will help anchor kids in the Christian faith,” said Mark. “We hope you will take advantage of our free introductory episode called ‘Stuck In The Yuck.’  It is available to watch on our website (www.newcreatures.net).

“I will always be indebted to the faculty at Clear Creek for helping lay the foundation for a ministry that I pray will ultimately reach nations for Christ.”
